Review: Catrice Chocolate Nudes eyeshadow

As a blue eyed girl, I have developed a love for brown and gold tinted eyeshadow. It really brings out the colour of my eyes and it’s very easy to make a lot of different looks, like a nice nude look for the average day or a more bold look for a night out. So I was very excited when I spotted this palette in my local drugstore.

It’s a relatively small palette (which is great for travelling) by Catrice called Chocolate Nudes. It contains 6 colours: a satin shimmering pearl, a matte light yellow cream colour, a matte light brown, a satin shimmer bronze, a satin gold and a matte warm medium brown. The packaging is plastic and it comes with a double ended sponge/brush applicator.

I’d recommend using a primer beneath the shadows, as the pigmentation varies between the different shades. As you can see on the swatches (where I have put a primer on first) the pigmentation is fairly good. The colours are buildable, so you can make it more pigmented if you

When swatching I noticed the matte colours are less pigmented than the satin colours, but they are buildable. Still it’s a little inconvenient since I tend to mostly use matte colours during the day. And, as with most eyeshadows, you get the best results when you use a primer.

As I said I mostly use matte shades during the day, but what do you prefer? What’s your favourite daytime look? Let me know down in the comments!
