Review: Maybelline The Rocket Mascara

This mascara is my go to for a night out. Why, you ask? I’ll tell you in this review. I know this isn’t a new product or anything, but I still would like to share my opinion.

The packaging is a real eye catcher, not because of its stunning design, but because of its colours: dark electric blue with bright fuchsia pink details. When browsing through the makeup department, you’ll probably notice it. It’s oval shaped, with a thickened middle part.heel-web

The brush/wand is plastic, the bristles are silicon. I prefer silicon bristles above regular ones. I feel like they give the best separation of your lashes and make them the least clumpy. The brush is thick and the bristles are relatively

The colour I have is black and mine is not waterproof. I will say that I regularly cycle through some cold weather and my eyes will tear up a little, and I usually don’t have black smudges beneath my eyes after such a bike ride. I also wear this while going a night out dancing, and it will stay where it should.borsteltje-web

Here you can see what my lashes look like without mascara, with one layer and with two layers. I’m not that good at applying multiple layers, so two is usually the most I go for, otherwise my lashes will clump together (I know you should apply the next layer when the first one’s dry, but do you have any other tips for me?).wimpers-web

So as to why I like this one best for a night out: it’s not waterproof, so you won’t have to rub your eyes out when removing it after, but it doesn’t smudge as easily as some other mascaras. It’s intense black and can easily be layered when touching up on you makeup before going out.
