The Ultimate Banana Smoothie with Cinnamon and Vanilla

This smoothie, oh my god. If I didn’t know better I’d say it was a sweet, unhealthy, dessert-worthy milkshake. But since I made it myself I can tell you it’s not. I regularly use banana as the base for my smoothie, but I never quite liked it to be the main flavour. Until I decided to make this. It’s quick, it’s easy and it requires only a few ingredients. It’s perfect for cooling down on a warm summer’s day, and is also great as dessert. Because the main ingredient is frozen banana, it has the consistency of a milkshake, but because it’s main ingredient is a fruit it can still be classified as a smoothie. And a great one at that. So let’s get into it, shall we?

The ultimate banana smoothie with frozen banana, cinnamon and vanilla.

Banana cinnamon vanilla smoothie – 1 large serving

2 frozen banana’s (slice them and put them in the freezer overnight)
1 cup of milk (I used lactose free, but you could use rice, soy or almond milk if you prefer not to use dairy)
A splash of blood-orange juice
½ tsp ground cinnamon
A generous splash of vanilla extract
1 tsp honey

Throw all of these in a blender and mix together. If needed, add a little more milk to achieve the preferred consistency. If you like your smoothie to be a little sweeter, you can add some more honey, but if you use banana’s that are nice and ripe they’ll probably give you plenty of sweetness.
